Continence Aids Assistance Scheme (CAAS)

The Continence Aids Assistance Scheme (CAAS):  CAAS was a program designed by the Australian government to give a helping hand to members of the community who suffer from permanent and severe incontinence

CAAS provided financial aid, indexed annually for continence products such as pads and catheters to help ease the burden of incontinence on sufferer’s lifestyles and allow them to maintain a level of participation in the community.

CAAS and Intouch: Intouch was selected on behalf of the Department of Health and Ageing to manage the scheme, and trusted to be the sole provider of continence products for the CAAS program until the programs end on July 1 2010.

As a result Intouch has gained unrivalled experience servicing over 90,000 customers throughout Australia for over 25 years providing discrete, direct to door delivery of healthcare and continence products.

From CAAS to CAPS: In 2010 the CAAS program was replaced with the Continence Aids Payment Scheme (CAPS) when Medicare Australia received the management responsibilities of the program in order to provide a greater degree of flexibility with the financial assistance provided.

Under CAPS, eligibility criteria have remained the same however, Medicare Australia will provide direct payments to either a client’s nominated bank account or nominated healthcare provider.

Intouch Direct continue to support CAPS customers through providing the same products and service under the former scheme. We delivery direct-to-door Australia wide. If you would like to nominate Intouch Direct as your healthcare provider call 1300 134 260.
