Our engagement with the community reflects our core values and commitment to accessible healthcare and wellness.

At Intouch we are bringing our people, expertise and resources together to help improve access to healthcare for Australians nationally in a discreet, more convenient and reliable way. Intouch is committed to supporting communities, and has built strong partnerships that connect with diverse areas of need and concern.

Our support reflects our core values and commitment to delivering education, healthcare and a better quality of life for all. Our surplus profits go to the Spinal Injuries Association, supporting and rebuilding lives of people with a spinal disability while promoting independence.

In addition we continue to make our own funding and in kind contributions to a wide range of community initiatives including healthcare and wellness education and issues, social and environmental matters and community organisations assisting people in need. We proactively expand our level of influence through lobbying decision makers at a government level.

Who we support

 Continence Foundation of Australia

The Continence Foundation of Australia (CFA) is the national peak body for continence management, promotion and advocacy. Intouch works closely with the CFA to raise awareness of continence as a health issue, promote good continence management and the National Continence Helpline.

Intouch is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the annual National Conference on Incontinence, and this year is also sponsor of the Continence Carer of the Year. Intouch regularly supports the CFA’s Every Body’s Business consumer and health professional expos, Bridge consumer magazine and the Australian and New Zealand Continence Journal.

Working together means both organisations can provide the best information, support and advice for consumers and health professionals.
Support the Spinal Injuries Association Spinal Injuries Association

The Spinal Injuries Association is Queensland's peak body for people with a spinal cord injury and for people with the late effects of polio. The Association provides a range of services that empower members and support independence.

We donate all surplus profits to the Spinal Injuries Association. As the commercial arm, Intouch is dedicated to Support the Spinal Injuries Associationsupporting the Association's cause of maintaining and developing quality services that make a difference to the lives of people with a spinal cord injury.

 Parkinson's Unity Walk

Intouch is proud to sponsor this year’s Unity Walk for Parkinson’s, supporting two simultaneous events on Sunday 30 August at Sydney Olympic Park and Melbourne’s Federation Square.

The walk supports the 80 000 Australians who have Parkinson’s disease; the second most common neurological disorder in Australia. The event aims to raise awareness and funds. Proceeds from the event will go towards research into the disease and to support people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers.

Next year the Unity Walk may expand into other states and Intouch looks forward to developing links with other Parkinson’s associations.

 Carers Australia

Carers are the unsung heroes of our community, they provide unpaid care and support to family and friends who have a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness or who are frail. It is estimated that one in eight Australians fulfill a caring role.

To celebrate Carers Week 18–24 October, Intouch is sponsoring both Carers QLD and Carers WA events; acknowledging and promoting the important role of carers.

For the past two years Intouch has been a major sponsor of Carers South Australia, supporting their work to improve the lives of carers in South Australia. Sponsorship support helps Carers SA provide counseling, advice, advocacy, education and training for carers.

Intouch is also developing stronger links with each state and territory carers association to further support all of Australia’s carers.

Team Spirit
handcycling team

Intouch was the primary sponsor of Team Spirit, a men’s handcycling team based in Queensland, during the 2008-09 National Handcycling Series. Team members included Darron Shields (coach), David McNaught, Darren Anderson and George Kambouris.

Handcycling is a form of adaptive cycling that enables athletes of all abilities to ride a “bike” exclusively using the upper body. It is one of the newest competitions at the Paralympic Games making its first appearance in Athens, Greece in 2004, although it was first included at the World Championships in 1998.

Competitive handcycling is relatively new in Australia and growing fast. It has become popular worldwide, particularly America and. Although handcycling is popular with competitive athletes, most handcycles are purchased for recreational riding.

Intouch looks forward to supporting the development of handcycling as a sport and encouraging athletes, both competitive and recreational, to get on their bikes.

Multicap provides services to more than 500 families accessing day, respite, accommodation, social and disability enterprise facilities statewide.

Intouch is proud to be the Founding Partner of the inaugural Multicap Celebration Dinner Dance in Brisbane in February 2010. The aim of the dinner dance is to provide a safe, fun, positive environment for people with multiple disabilities to participate in a social experience that they may not normally have access to.

Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA)

Aged and Community Services Australia is the national peak body in Australia representing over 1 100 church and charitable and community based organisations providing accommodation and care services to over 700 000 older people, people with a disability and their carers.

ACSA is the only aged care peak body which broadly represents the community care sector. Community care is the clear preference of most consumers and the Australian public generally. It is growing and expanding and will be a major force into the future.

Intouch supports their vision for a strong, sustainable aged and community care industry providing people with high quality, accessible services through sponsorship and support of their recently launched aged care image campaign – you may have seen and heard about Kevin87?

Intouch and ACSA work together to promote the aged and community care sectors and share specialist information through Intouch Direct “ask an expert” and online forums.
