This year’s National Conference on Incontinence will be held from the 16-19th November and the program boasts renowned international speakers, specialist workshops and social events.
Hosted by the Continence Foundation of Australia, the conference caters for all medical, nursing, physiotherapy and specialist health professionals in the incontinence field. The program has been designed to provide a comprehensive trade exhibition to keep attendees up to date with the latest industry new and trends as well as in-depth scientific presentations and discussions.
Program
Billed as a truly multidisciplinary event, the conference will host a number of continence workshops as well as guest speakers from Australia and overseas covering an interesting and varied range of topics reflecting the continued diversity within the field of incontinence.
Presenting on the latest research in the field of continence prevention, treatment and management this year's keynote speakers include:
- Prof. Christine Norton – Professor of Clinical Nursing Innovation, Imperial College Healthcare & Bucks New University, UK.
- Prof. James Gillespie – Professor of Human Physiology, Newcastle University, UK.
- Kari Bø – Vice President, International Organization of Physical Therapists in Women’s Health, Norway
- Prof. Allan Cottenden - Professor of Incontinence Technology, University College London, UK
- Dr. Yves Heloury – Professor of Paediatric Urology, Monash University, Melbourne.
- Beth Wilson – Victorian Health Services Commissioner
For those interested in networking or just meeting like-minded professionals there will be several social events including a welcome reception and conference dinner.
The welcome reception is an informal get-together included for all registered delegates.
The conference dinner will be held on-site and is optional but supported by the conference. The dinner will host several awards including Carer of the Year, CFA Best Paper and various Industry Awards.
Location
This year’s conference will be held at the purpose built Crown Conference Centre, Melbourne. The central location of the conference will also provide delegates the opportunity to explore metropolitan area of Melbourne. Famous for its multicultural atmosphere, cosmopolitan feel, fine cuisines and world class fashion, Melbourne has something on offer for everyone.
This year Kimberly-Clark will be hosting a free meet-and-greet cocktail function followed by a twilight tour of Melbourne for conference delegates from 5pm on Tuesday 15 November. The tour will begin with canapés and drinks at the Mantra Southbank then proceed with an exciting one hour journey through the wonderful city of Melbourne to showcase what the city has to offer.
