NDIS

The NDIS is the National Disability Insurance Scheme, a new healthcare program which transforms the way government funding can be accessed. The NDIS is being introduced progressively over the next three years and is currently being rolled out in different regions. To find out if you have access in your area check the NDIS website for roll out plans click here

To be eligible for NDIS you need to meet the following requirements:

  • have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities
  • be aged less than 65 when you first access the scheme
  • be an Australian citizen, live in Australia and hold a permanent visa or hold a Protected Special Category Visa

If you currently access other funding services and you are eligible for NDIS funding a planner will contact you to make an individual assessment and to discuss your needs when the NDIS is introduced to your area.

It is really important that you think about what access and support you might need before you develop your support plan. Intouch Direct can help you prepare for you review meeting by offering;

  • support on product selection or use,
  • product sampling and support
  • a copy of your product purchasing history to assist with budget allocation

After you agree on a support plan with the NDIS, you’ll be given a budget which you can choose to spend with approved service providers such as Intouch Direct, who is a registered provider for the NDIS across Australia.
